Jurasic Reef
Paleoartistic reconstruction of the La Torre site (Higueruelas Formation, Valencia), an Upper Jurassic (150 million years ago) reef located in a shallow sea with warm and transparent waters. The reef was composed of bioherms and featured a high biodiversity, with over 30 species represented in the reconstruction, including corals and stromatoporids (as the main builders of these bioherms), pycnodontiform and osteolepiform fishes, sponges, echinoderms, annelids, bivalves, and gastropods, among others.
